Peterborough Cathedral stands as one of the finest Norman cathedrals in Europe and is the final resting place of Katharine of Aragon. Renowned for its magnificent architecture, exquisite medieval artwork, and rich history, it is a site full of wonders to discover.
Peterborough Cathedral has a rich choral tradition, with its choirs enriching worship throughout the centuries. Its vibrant, inclusive community unites worshippers from diverse backgrounds, celebrating faith through traditional services, social groups and events. This historic spiritual hub continues to inspire, blending heritage with outreach, fostering a welcoming and thriving congregation. Singing has been a part of worship at Peterborough Cathedral for over 1000 years. As a Benedictine abbey generations of monks sang the offices. At the foundation of the Cathedral in 1541, the choir was formed along with The King’s School for the education of the choristers. The Cathedral’s four-manual Hill organ is one of the finest of its kind in the country. Originally built in 1894,it was re-pitched from old philharmonic to standard concert pitch in 2015.
