1 December
It's Day 1, and although it doesn't often snow in England's westernmost cathedral city, our first carol will soon get you in the festive spirit. Sit back and enjoy this wonderful recording of Peter Tranchell’s 'People, look East', arranged by Peter Marchbank and performed by Truro Cathedral Choir, conducted by Christopher Gray with Andrew Wyatt at Truro's Father Willis organ. The piece features on Truro’s recent CD of contemporary Christmas music All the World Tonight Rejoices, released 24 November 2021. The recording is all the more remarkable given it was made under social distancing conditions!
The video includes drone footage by Droneworks Southwest from Truro Cathedral's Sing2G7 programme, which brought together some 27,000 children worldwide, including many cathedral choirs.
"The support of the Cathedral Music Trust has been vital in enabling cathedral music at Truro not only to survive the damaging impact of lockdowns, but to emerge strongly on the other side."
Christopher Gray
