Tower of London Gathering

Inside the Chapel of St Peter the Vinicula at the Tower of London
Book now for our Tower of London gathering, in the Chapel of St Peter ad Vincula.

A visit to the Chapel of St Peter ad Vincula in the Tower of London for a service of Choral Matins. This will be followed by a brief talk and organ demonstration by Colm Carey (Master of Music) and Hugh Rowlands (Organist). Attendees will then have the opportunity to purchase their own lunch in the New Armouries Cafe, followed by an optional, self-guided visit to St John's Chapel in the White Tower. Alternatively, attendees may view St John's Chapel immediately after the talk and organ demonstration, followed by lunch in New Armouries or elsewhere. Please note that once attendees leave the Tower precincts, no re-admission will be possible. Please note that, due to the historic nature of the site, this event may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility.

Further information

On arrival, attendees should assemble at Middle Drawbridge on the wharf, not at the main tourist entrance (see map). They should arrive between 10.00am and 10.30am at which time a verger will escort the group to the St Peter's Chapel. It will not be possible to admit anyone arriving at Middle Drawbridge later than 10.30am. The shortest route to the Chapel is up a flight of about 20 steps, though a longer, level route is available. There are 4 unavoidable steps down into St Peter's Chapel, and neither St Peter's Chapel nor St John's Chapel is suitable for wheelchairs.

The optional viewing of St John's Chapel is up three flights of stairs in the White Tower - 206 steps in all, some irregular and uneven - and because of the historic nature of the site, this event may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.

Attendees may purchase their own lunch in the New Armouries Cafe inside the Tower precincts, or elsewhere, either before or after viewing St John's Chapel, but once they leave the precincts, no re-admission is possible.

For the optional self-guided visit to St John's Chapel, attendees should follow the usual tourist route with all other visitors (not usually allowed for St Peter's Chapel attendees). It will be possible to view St John's Chapel briefly, but there is no specific CMT guided tour of the chapel.

Viewing of other rooms in the Tower (e.g. the Crown Jewels exhibition etc) is not included in the ticket price for this event, only St Peter's Chapel and St John's Chapel.

Sales end at 10am on Sunday 26 May 2024. Tickets cost £20 per person.

Ticket cost includes a £5 non-refundable booking fee to support with the Trust's administrative costs.
